Cherish real relationships. Family and my true friends are so important to me. This world can be a crazy place, but having those people who you love and trust to always be by your side is so special. This industry is surprisingly small and you meet a lot of people, but when you have your true people in your life, don’t ever let them go.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Sophie Reynolds. Known for her role on the Disney XD series “Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything,” Sophie is currently promoting her role as a series regular on the…
Always Assume Good Intentions- So often, we react to the words of others from a defensive place. In a time when so much of our communication happens through texts and emails, this can lead to catastrophic miscommunications. If we instead start from assuming someone meant well or that their tone was kind, we can either avoid these mistakes or only end up in conflict when there is actually a need for one.

Make time for personal development: We’re all so busy and it’s easy to get carried away by your work. There was a time when I was constantly dealing with global issues that I had little time to think about myself. I think it’s critical that you set aside time for yourself to pursue your personal interests. The satisfaction you derive from your hobbies can also help you grow professionally as well. Now that I’ve made time to read books, I’ve been able to both enjoy learning something new while gaining knowledge that can better inform my work.

I had the pleasure to interview Agnes Azria. Agnes is a 20-year-old singer/songwriter from Los Angeles. She released her debut music video for her new song ‘The Beauty Myth’ on September 18th. The video is inspired by Naomi Wolf’s book The Beauty Myth, which argues that beauty is the last belief system that keeps male domination intact. Her sound is soulful and powerful and blends jazz and pop influences. Agnes grew up surrounded by the…
You should always hire someone who “scares” you. When hiring my own replacement as I was moving into a new role at Mars, I learned not to be afraid of people who are smarter or better than you and that it’s critical to seek out different perspectives. You have to be confident enough to surround yourself with those who will challenge you and who will push you to be your best — those you hire and whom you work with. Ultimately that makes you and the business stronger.

Anything is possible. The cards we are dealt, are the cards we are dealt. We can’t do anything about things that are out of our control, the question is what we will do in response with the things that are in our control. We are constantly inspired by the children and families who accomplish things they were told are impossible, because they don’t accept the status quo as the end to possibilities.

Establish Your Brand Identity Early On: I’m the type that just goes for it — head first. This has helped me to get where I am, but had I put a little more thought into my Brand identity, I wouldn’t have had to delete nearly half my photos from when I first started because they no longer “go” with my content theme. It took me a few months to get into a grove and find a look & feel that worked for my Brand and represented me. Now, I know exactly what it is — light, bright and cheerful. At…

I’m driven by hope. I have hope every time I look at the faces of those girls overcoming the most difficult odds to pursue a better life. You see their whole persona change when they realize they have a chance to make a better life. I believe our work opens up possibilities for them to dream and to realize their potential, and that inspires me.
